Dear Prospective Students and Parents,
All schools are closed in Ghana due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As from 25 March, 2020, the National Inspectorate Board (Ministry of Education) has announced the suspension of all local entrance examinations in all schools. This is a most important decision for two reasons:
• It prevents gatherings for the traditional entrance exams.
• It eliminates the need for students to be tutored for traditional exams.
At TIS, our admission process will continue, with approval from the National Inspectorate Board (Ministry of Education), by ensuring our whole admission process is completed online.
With immediate effect, all online testing will be completed at a student's home and interviews will be conducted online using ZOOM. There will be no physical access to TIS during the admissions process until schools are officially reopened.
NOTE: As the online test is not a traditional entrance exam, it is not a requirement that parents hire tutors to prep their children. In fact, as a cognitive ability test, you can not study for it. The purpose of the test is to identify preferred learning styles and how these can impact on subject choice for students in MYP and DP classes.
The next round of testing and interviews for the remaining vacancies at TIS will commence on 20 April, 2020.
